Editorial Policy

This page explains how Simply Health Daily works: who writes it, where the information comes from, how we handle mistakes, and how we are paid. If anything here does not match what you see on the site, tell us and we will fix one or the other.

Who writes this

Articles are published under the byline Simply Health Daily Editorial. The site is operated by [OPERATOR NAME — to be completed], who is responsible for everything published here.

We are not doctors, dentists, dietitians or any other kind of licensed clinician, and we do not present ourselves as such. What we do is read the primary literature and the guidance published by professional bodies, and translate it into something a non-specialist can use.

Where our information comes from

Our order of preference, highest first:

  1. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses in peer-reviewed journals.
  2. Individual randomised controlled trials, read with their sample size and limitations in view.
  3. Guidance from professional and public health bodies — the American Dental Association, the NIH, and equivalents.
  4. Observational studies and mechanistic research, clearly labelled as such.

We link our sources so you can check them. If an article makes a factual claim and does not cite anything, that is a defect — please report it.

What we will not do

  • Repeat a seller’s claims as fact. If a manufacturer says something the literature does not support, we will say so on the page, even where we earn a commission on that product.
  • Round uncertainty up into a headline. If the evidence is of low certainty, we say low certainty. If a result was not statistically significant, we say that, rather than reporting the direction of the effect and leaving out the rest.
  • Invent or embellish testimonials. We do not publish reviews, quotes or case studies from people who do not exist. If we ever publish a real one, it will be identifiable as real and labelled.
  • Claim that anything cures, treats or prevents disease. Dietary supplements are not drugs, and we do not write about them as though they were.
  • Give you medical advice. We cannot assess your situation and will not pretend otherwise.

How we are paid

This site is funded by affiliate commissions. If you buy something through a link here, the merchant pays us a percentage of the sale, and your price is unchanged. Pages containing affiliate links say so at the top, not only in the footer.

No merchant pays us for coverage, sees our articles before publication, or has any say in what we write. Our Affiliate Disclosure sets this out in full.

We think the honest position is to tell you how we are paid and let you weigh what we write accordingly — not to pretend the commercial interest does not exist.

Corrections

We will get things wrong. When we do:

  • We correct the article rather than quietly deleting it.
  • Substantive corrections — anything that changes the meaning — are noted on the page with the date.
  • Typos and formatting fixes are made without a note.

To report an error, write to contact@simplyhealthdaily.com. Tell us which article and what is wrong, and we will look at it.

Updates

Health evidence moves. Articles carry the month they were published or last reviewed. An older date does not mean the content is wrong, but it does mean newer research may exist, and you should weigh it accordingly.
